The FAS explained the change in the tariff for electricity transmission in Russia
The increase in the tariff for electricity transmission services through a single national (all-Russian) grid will not affect citizens of the Russian Federation. This was announced on Monday, May 1, by the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS).
The department explained that the decision to increase the tariff by 6.3% was due to the implementation of a large-scale investment program in the grid complex. At the same time, electricity tariffs for the population of Russia will not change from May 1, antimonopolists emphasized.
In Russia, in accordance with the law, indexation of tariffs for housing and communal services for citizens is carried out once a year — on July 1. However, in 2022, a decision was made on extraordinary indexation. Instead of July 1, 2023, it was carried out on December 1, 2022.
At the same time, the Russian authorities emphasized that this is not an additional indexation — taking into account the already adjusted tariffs for housing and communal services, planned indexation will not be carried out in December on July 1, 2023 . Thus, the next time the tariffs for housing and communal services for the population will be indexed only on July 1, 2024.
