HAVANA, Apr 30 Dynamics of relations between Russia and Cuba today is provided by the presidents of states, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said on Saturday during a bilateral meeting with the chairman of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, Esteban Lazo Hernandez.
Delegation of the State Duma led by Speaker of the Chamber Vyacheslav Volodin is in Cuba on an official visit.
«I must say that in many respects the current dynamics of relations is ensured by our presidents,» Volodin said.
He noted that parliaments should do everything possible to develop relations, mutually beneficial cooperation, and increase trade.
«It is extremely important that the parliaments, for their part, do everything possible not only for the legislative support of the adopted decisions, but also through new formats, filling them with concrete content, do everything to develop relations, strengthen friendship, mutually beneficial cooperation, increase trade», — said Volodin.
Chairman of the National Assembly of People's Power Esteban Lazo Hernandez, during a meeting with Volodin, expressed gratitude for the support of the Cuban Parliament from Russia.
Also, during the official visit, the first meeting of the commission on cooperation between the State Duma and the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba took place. The meeting was chaired by Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and Speaker of the Cuban Parliament Esteban Lazo Hernandez, who noted the effectiveness of this format.
During the meeting, the topics of developing bilateral relations in the financial and energy sectors, agriculture, tourism and education were touched upon. The parliamentarians also discussed legislative work to counter external interference in internal affairs.
