HAVANA, Apr 29 State Duma delegation led by the speaker of the House Vyacheslav Volodin arrived in Cuba on an official visit on Saturday, a correspondent reports.
At the gangway the delegation was met by Russian Ambassador to Cuba Victor Koronelli.
As the chamber's press service noted earlier, during the visit, the first meeting of the commission on cooperation between the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the National Assembly of People's Power of the Republic of Cuba will take place.
Deputies plan to discuss legislative support in the field of finance and investment, energy, education, and tourism.
The delegation included First Vice Speaker of the State Duma Ivan Melnikov (KPRF), Head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Head of the State Duma Committee on Security Vasily Piskarev (ER), Deputy Head of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Andrey Klimov.
The delegation also included Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Dmitry Afanasiev, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Volvach, Deputy Minister of Finance Alexei Lavrov.
