On the Avito service, ads appeared for the sale of new novels by Stephen King and J.K. Rowling, although both authors banned the publication and sale of their books in Russia shortly after the start of the war in Ukraine. Kommersant drew attention to this.
The novels King's Tale and Ink Black Heart Rowling went on sale in English in autumn 2022. Announcements about Russian-language translations of books were published in April 2023 by the user vtb-books. They have a price of 2,500 rubles.
Both books had imprint photographs. It says that the translations were published in Lugansk by the Trophy Book publishing house. The international ISBN number assigned to each published book was not specified.
Kommersant notes that it could not find the company's phone numbers on the Internet or find it in the SPARK-Interfax system, which collects data on legal entities. In addition to Avito, according to the newspaper, there were similar announcements on the Yula service. The Mediazona correspondent did not find them in the site search.
