WASHINGTON, May 2 The United States is currently experimenting with unmanned technologies in the water, under water and in the air, and plans to develop ground-based unmanned vehicles, including tanks, said Mark Milley, chairman of the US Armed Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff.
«We are now experimenting and developing unmanned naval combat vehicles, surface and underwater. We are experimenting with modern fighters and bombers, which will be, by and large, unmanned. You will see trucks, tanks and ground forces in the future,» he said in an interview with Foreign Affairs magazine.
Milli noted that robotic technology is «very, very fast» coming into the service of the armed forces and added that artificial intelligence and quantum computing could also potentially be used with them.
«Without a doubt, this will have a huge impact on military operations in the future. As before, a country that optimizes these technologies for military operations will have a decisive advantage,» he concluded.< br />
