MOSCOW, May 4. Ukrainian forces have nothing to oppose Russian guided glide bombs, the American Military Watch Magazine said.
According to journalists, stocks of these munitions have increased significantly since February 2022, as the defense sector has significantly increased their production. This decision was made to meet the needs both in Ukraine and to protect against the growing presence of NATO near Russian territory.
“Not only are guided glide bombs much more accurate, allowing aircraft to hit many more targets each time they overcome air defenses. defense of Ukraine, but their ability to fly about 70 kilometers to their targets also significantly reduces the risk of being shot down compared to flying directly over the target using traditional gravity bombs,» the journalists explained.
The MWM authors also added that Ukrainian systems Soviet-made S-300 air defenses are limited to a range of about 100 kilometers or less, unlike modern S-300 variants built in Russia today. Russian air defenses of this type have a range of 400 kilometers, which allows Russian aircraft to have greater freedom to deploy glide bombs without a high risk of being hit.
