
MOSCOW, May 6. The United Arab Emirates has officially received the status of a dialogue partner in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), reports WAM agency.
«The UAE officially received the status of a dialogue partner in the SCO on the sidelines of the meeting of the Organization's Council of Foreign Ministers. <…> The culmination of the UAE's participation was the signing of a memorandum of understanding on joining the SCO,» the message says.
It is noted that the country was represented at the ceremony by the UAE Ambassador to India, Abdel Nasser Al Shaali. >As the publication emphasizes, the status of a dialogue partner of the SCO represents Abu Dhabi's ongoing efforts to maintain and develop relations with countries and multilateral organizations around the world.
The SCO includes Russia, India, China, Pakistan and four countries of Central Asia: Kazakhstan , Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.India took over the chairmanship of the SCO group in September 2022 and is hosting this year.
