In St. Petersburg, on the doors of the Maly Drama Theater (MDT), which is directed by Lev Dodin, there was information that the premises were sealed on May 5. Fontanka and City Legislative Assembly deputy Boris Vishnevsky drew attention to this.
According to Fontanka's interlocutors, the theater was sealed until May 12 after an inspection in which Rospotrebnadzor participated, among other things. What the check could be connected with, the sources of the publication did not specify.
Vishnevsky claims that employees of the prosecutor's office, Rospotrebnadzor and the Ministry of Emergency Situations came to the MDT. “Found, allegedly, "shortcomings" in the line of fire safety and in the "sanitary-epidemiological" parts. Everything, as usual, when you need to run into unwanted people, ”added the deputy.
TASS, citing Rospotrebnadzor, writes that experts have recorded «numerous sanitary and epidemiological violations» in the theater. Because of this, a temporary ban on its work has been introduced.
According to Vishnevsky, a court hearing has been scheduled for May 11, during which the theater can be suspended for 90 days to “correct shortcomings.”
< p>After the start of the war in Ukraine, the artistic director of the MDT, Lev Dodin, addressed a personal letter to Vladimir Putin. Later, the Theater magazine published an open appeal from the director. Dodin opposed the Russian invasion.
“I am seventy-seven years old, in my life I have lost so many people whom I loved. Today, when rockets of hatred and death are flying over our heads instead of doves of peace, I can only say one thing: stop!” the open letter said. Now the publication of the theater with it has been deleted, its copy has been preserved in the archive.
In addition, it is known that MDT postponed performances with the participation of Danila Kozlovsky, who was previously reported to the Prosecutor General's Office by Vitaly Borodin, who wrote denunciations to Russian media. What exactly was the reason for the change in dates, the theater did not specify.
