KURGAN, May 8. In the Kurgan region, firefighters localized nine out of 13 hotbeds of natural fires, said the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov, who flew around the territory together with Governor Vadim Shumkov and Yury Zemlyansky, head of the regional head office.

"We flew over the areas where the most difficult situation had developed. Most of the natural fires have already been localized,” the minister said.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, out of nine fires that threatened settlements, six were localized, and one was completely eliminated. During the day, rescuers extinguished eight more fires.
The group involved in extinguishing fires has grown to 1290 people and 332 pieces of equipment, including aviation, which dropped 165 tons of water on the fires.
