
LUGANSK, May 8. Ukrainian troops shelled the village of Molodezhnoye in the Luhansk People's Republic, firing one rocket from the HIMARS MLRS, the representative office of the republic at the Joint Center reported control and coordination of issues related to war crimes in Ukraine (JCCC).
“The shelling was recorded from the side of the armed formations of Ukraine: 3.00 (coincides with Moscow time) at the settlement of Molodezhnoye (LPR) using the HIMARS MLRS (one rocket),” reads a message published on the representative’s telegram channel.
Information about the victims and damage is being specified.
The HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) multiple launch rocket system was developed in the USA by BAE Systems and Lockheed Martin in 1996-2000 and has been produced since 2003. Based on a three-axle FMTV wheeled chassis of the US Army, it can carry six rockets or one ATACMS operational-tactical ballistic missile, the effective range for certain types of ammunition is up to 80 kilometers.
