In Kaliningrad, the police detained local activist and journalist Mikhail Feldman. According to lawyer Maria Bontsler, who cooperates with OVD-Info, a criminal case was opened against him for “discrediting” the army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code) due to reposts on VKontakte.
According to Bonzler, two criminal cases were brought against the activist based on one denunciation. The man was detained for 48 hours before the meeting on the choice of a measure of restraint, which will be held on May 10 in the Central District Court of Kaliningrad. Other details of the case are unknown. On his VKontakte page, Feldman published many anti-war and opposition posts.
According to OVD-Info, a Kaliningrader was previously prosecuted under administrative protocols for “discrediting” the army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). In particular, last spring he was fined 30,000 rubles for joining an anti-war rally.
In 2020, Feldman was sentenced to two months of restriction of freedom in the case of insulting state symbols (Article 329 of the Criminal Code) for posting on VKontakte with the flag of Russia and the inscription «wipe your feet.»
