Cosmonauts from the ISS congratulated the Russians on Victory Day

MOSCOW, May 9.Russian cosmonauts Sergei Prokopiev, Dmitry Petelin and Andrey Fedyaev from the International Space Station (ISS) congratulated the Russians on Victory Day and reminded them of the need to preserve and increase the memory of the participants in the Great Patriotic War, the press service of Roscosmos distributed a video of congratulations.
«Dear friends! From the bottom of our hearts we congratulate you on Victory Day! For all of us, this is the most important holiday celebrated in every home, in every family. The great feat of our ancestors will forever remain in our memory,» Prokopyev said.

According to Petelin, on this day, the Russians honor the memory of those who «gave all their strength, health, and the most valuable thing — their lives» for the sake of the great Victory. He noted that the fathers and mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers of those who live today in Russia, then stood in one line and were able to protect their homeland from the enemy, thereby forever inscribing their names in history as the winners of fascism.

«Our sacred duty is to preserve and increase the memory of the participants of the Great Patriotic War, telling our children about their feat. Congratulate today those who saw that war and that victory with their own eyes, give them time and say thank you to everyone. Happy Holidays, friends!» — added, in turn, Fedyaev.
Prokopyev and Petelin arrived at the ISS on the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft on September 21, 2022, together with American Frank Rubio. Fedyaev arrived on March 2, 2023 as part of the crew of the American Crew Dragon spacecraft, which, in addition to him, delivered to the station US astronauts Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg, as well as an astronaut from the United Arab Emirates Sultan Al-Neyadi.
