MOSCOW, May 8. The majority of bribe-takers in Russia are caught in small amounts not exceeding ten thousand rubles, according to the statistics of the Judicial Department at the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, which were reviewed .
Thus, last year 2479 people were convicted for petty bribery (Article 291.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), four were acquitted. Of these, 40 people went to the colony (as a rule, not longer than a year), 43 received suspended sentences, the majority paid fines.
1367 people were convicted for receiving larger amounts in the form of bribes, 23 people were acquitted. 582 defendants went to colonies (most for terms of 3 to 8 years), 500 people received suspended sentences, 268 people got off with fines.
