MOSCOW, May 4th. Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov was arrested due to embezzlement of 92 million hryvnia, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office reported. >Trukhanov and others are accused of embezzlement of more than 92 million hryvnias (about 200 million rubles) of budgetary funds, which became possible as a result of the implementation of a scheme for acquiring one of the premises of the former Krayan plant into communal ownership at twice the price.
The Higher Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (VAKS) appointed a preventive measure in the form of arrest for two months with the alternative of making a bail in the amount of 13.6 million hryvnias (almost 29 million rubles) in the case of embezzlement of budget funds.
