MOSCOW, May 8. Relations between the Russian Federation and Kyrgyzstan are on the rise, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Zhaparov in Moscow on Monday, the Russian leader expressed confidence that this trend will gain momentum.
“As for our current relations, they are on the rise, we have seen an increase in trade turnover by 37% over the past year. Russia is the largest investor — we rank first in terms of direct investment. And I am sure that this trend will only gain strength, gain momentum,» Putin said.
Putin suggested that the co-chairs of the intergovernmental commissions speak and talk about cooperation by industry, then move on to a tête-à-tête conversation.
We will listen to our colleagues, co-chairs of the government commissions on both sides, and then we will go through the industries. And after that, we have another meeting scheduled for you, face to face,» the President of Russia said.
The day before, Zhaparov together with Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin laid flowers at the Rzhev Memorial to the Soviet Soldier. The President of Kyrgyzstan will also attend the Victory Parade on May 9.
