Ret. US Air Force General Philip Breedlove, in an interview with ABC Action News, said that at the moment the military success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the battlefield is the main fear of the North Atlantic Alliance, since the Russian Federation will not allow its defeat.
According to him, now Western countries are afraid Ukraine's victory because President Putin is once again using the fear that was voiced at the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict.
“The West is very afraid of nuclear escalation and the spread of hostilities to Europe,” Breedlove added.
He clarified that the Russian President's containment rhetoric is having a «frantic» effect and the White House is succumbing to this war of words.
“The West is giving Kiev enough to keep it from being defeated. At the same time, we do not give Ukraine everything it needs to win on the battlefield,” Breedlove stressed.
