Ukrainian poets Anna Gruver and Olena Huseynova, participating in the Prima Vista literary festival in the Estonian city of Tartu, opposed the headliner of the event, Russian-speaking writer Linor Goralik, and she was excluded from the program. This is reported by the publication ERR.
Goralik was born in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, during her school years she moved with her family to Israel, and since 2000 she has lived in Russia. In 2014, the writer left and received Israeli citizenship. After the outbreak of the war, Goralik launched a magazine about anti-war art Russian Oppositional Arts Review(ROAR).
According to Huseynova, the publication «protects» Russian-speaking » and legitimizes their magazine with several Ukrainian surnames.” “Smart people like Linor Goralik do it consciously. The Israeli passport of Linor Goralik is a kind of shield for the Russian participants,” the poetess added.
The Ukrainian also believes that Goralik cannot take part in Prima Vista, because “when crimes of the Russian military are committed in Ukraine, it is impossible to discuss problems related to Russian culture.”
As a result, yesterday, on the first day of the festival, Goralik was excluded from the program. Chairman of the Board of the event Krista Aru explained this decision «by the need to reduce the degree of tension among foreign guests.»
In the summer, Roskomnadzor blocked the ROAR website. Around the same time, Goralik launched Novosti 26, a site about politics for teenagers, the Prosecutor General's Office demanded that access to it be restricted too — the website builder Tilda sent a blocking notice to the publication.
Mediazona in partnership with an anti-war children's project Linor Goralik issued instructions for teenagers on how to behave when meeting with the security forces and during conversations with the school authorities, if they are related to the student's anti-war position.
You are a teenager, you are against the war, the school or the police are causing you problems. What should I do?
