VLADIVOSTOK, May 11. The prosecutor's office recovered from the convicted ex-mayor of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky the amount of bribes that he received from the heads of contracting companies, the Kamchatka prosecutor's office reports.
““The prosecutor’s office of the Kamchatka Territory filed a lawsuit against the former head of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky urban district to recover the amount of a bribe to the state … The Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky city court satisfied the claims of the prosecutor’s office and collected money to the income of the Russian Federation. The court decision did not enter into force,» the statement said.
The prosecutor's office clarified that we are talking about Vitaly Ivanenko. The court exacted 900 thousand rubles from him.

In December 2020, ex-mayor Ivanenko was sentenced to five years and six months in a strict regime colony and a fine of 4 million rubles, his brother was sentenced to three years and six months in a general regime colony and a fine of 2.2 million rubles. According to investigators, the ex-mayor received 700,000 rubles through his brother from the head of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky City Improvement Service for general «patronage». Also, according to the Investigative Committee, Ivanenko received 200 thousand rubles, transferred by the entrepreneur through the director of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Urban District Highway Service and his brother for assistance in concluding municipal contracts.

In the summer of 2022, Ivanenko was sentenced to another eight years and six months in a strict regime colony and a fine of 8 million rubles. It was established that in 2018 Ivanenko received 2 million rubles from the entrepreneur for patronage during the improvement of the park on Nikolskaya Sopka in the center of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. At the same time, one of the intermediaries is the brother of the former mayor, noted in SUSK.
Ivanenko has headed Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky since December 2016. He stepped down as mayor of his own accord effective November 27, 2019. A week earlier, he voluntarily resigned as secretary of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky local branch of United Russia.
