MOSCOW, May 11. British Defense Minister Ben Wallace did not to answer the question whether there are restrictions on the use of long-range missiles by Ukraine in relation to the Russian Federation.
Earlier, CNN, citing Western officials, reported that the UK had delivered several Storm Shadow cruise missiles to Ukraine. At the same time, the UK allegedly received assurances from Kyiv that these missiles would not be used against Russian territory.
«As for the restrictions, it is obvious that we will not say publicly whether they exist. The key here is to give Ukraine this opportunity to defend itself,» he said in the House of Commons, answering questions from parliamentarians on Ukraine. Wallace added that when deciding to provide new weapons to Ukraine, the British Defense Ministry is exploring the possibility of «minimizing escalation and provocation» in relation to Russia.
