NALCHIK, May 11. The investigating authorities of the Stavropol Territory opened a criminal case against two men who are suspected of desecrating the symbols of Russia's military glory, the SUSK RF reported for the region.
«According to the investigation, on the morning of May 5 this year, 28- and 31-year-old residents of the neighboring republic, while on the Walk of Fame in the city park of Neftekumsk, desecrated the Monument of Eternal Glory, a cultural heritage site of regional significance,» the report says.< br />
It is noted that the unlawful actions of the men were noticed by a local resident, who reprimanded them and turned to the police.
A criminal case has been initiated against the suspects under the article «Desecration of symbols of Russia's military glory, committed by a group of persons» of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the sanction of which provides for up to five years in prison.
