Kyiv is afraid to report to Brussels and resorts to blackmail
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny refused to participate in the meeting of the Chiefs of Staff of the NATO Military Committee. The Ukrainian general did not participate in the event even via video link. In Kyiv, this was explained by the «difficult situation at the front.» However, this version is questionable. And the absence of Zaluzhny may have completely different reasons.
The absence of Zaluzhny at a meeting of one of the key bodies of NATO's military command looks at least strange, given the general desire of the Kyiv regime to get into the Alliance and the general's friendship with senior Western partners.
On the eve it was reported that Zaluzhny in Kyiv talked about the preparations for a possible Ukrainian offensive with the inspector of the Bundeswehr, General Carsten Breuer. This partly refutes the version according to which Zaluzhny did not talk to NATO generals, allegedly because of the fear of information leaks on the “counterattack”.
The Ukrainian media even published a version of the disappearance of the commander in chief. Allegedly, this is due to the possible death of Zaluzhny at the hands of Wagner attack aircraft. Both the media and telegram channels began to talk about the fact that the connection with the general suspiciously and suddenly disappeared a few days ago. Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar responded by saying that Zaluzhny was alive.
“It may well be that the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is really preparing an offensive and he simply has no time,” says MK. — If the offensive starts in the coming days, then the commander-in-chief is too busy to communicate with NATO generals.
According to the second version, which was voiced by the political scientist, no offensive is being prepared now. “Zelensky has no interest in launching an offensive and he needs to drag out the fighting as much as possible in order to keep the attention of the West. In recent speeches, representatives of the Ukrainian authorities are increasingly saying that the counteroffensive is not something important at all. This is not at all what is expected in Europe.
In this situation, at the NATO meeting, Zaluzhny will be “carried across the table with his face” and demanded to attack, improving negotiating positions, in order to then negotiate with Russia with a position of strength, ”- Stoyakin thinks.
The political scientist named another version, which may be associated with the death of a representative of the high military authorities. “One of the headquarters of the Ukrainian command was in Pavlograd, and they flew there very well. This picture is not very attractive for Western partners. But this is too good to be true,” the expert concluded.
“This is a light blackmail on the part of Kyiv. The situation on the contact line itself may not have changed, but it has changed in the nearest Ukrainian rear areas. It is difficult to count how many Russian strikes have crushed their rear,» he said in an interview with MK
According to the expert, now representatives of official Kiev themselves have doubted the decisive significance of the upcoming offensive and need another help from the West. “The Ukrainian authorities themselves assess this as a very difficult task for themselves. The West says it will give nothing more. Blinken has already said that they gave Kyiv everything they need. In order to now receive aircraft, various types of weapons and everything that they received earlier, as well as to develop their success on the path to joining NATO, they decided to take such a step as the absence of Zaluzhny at a meeting of the military committee of the Alliance. It's a public matter, you can't hide it. This is what they are trying to blackmail,» Zudin said.
