St. Petersburg, May 6th. Performances at the Maly Drama Theater — the Theater of Europe in St. Petersburg, whose work was suspended by Rospotrebnadzor, are canceled until May 12, the theater announced in its Telegram channel.
Earlier it was reported that the Office of Rospotrebnadzor in St. Petersburg suspended the work of the Maly Drama Theater — the Theater of Europe due to violations of the law in the field of ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population. A protocol was issued on a temporary ban on the activities of the theater from May 5, 2023.
“The performances announced in the poster from May 6 to May 12 inclusive are canceled. Tickets can be returned at the place of purchase, the money will be returned in full,” the theater reports.
The Academic Maly Drama Theater — Theater of Europe was founded in 1944. Since 2002, its artistic director has been Lev Dodin, who has been the chief director of MDT since 1983.
