To be afraid of wolves is not to go on vacation
Planning a summer vacation is a puzzle with many unknowns. In addition to tse, there is another very important factor — safety. Long-distance travel has never been safe, and today the world is also agitated by geopolitical upheavals and Russians are far from welcome in all even proven vacation spots. How to choose from the available destinations where vacationers and their families are 100% safe?
Representatives of the native tourism industry, stipulating that “even your apartment is not 100% safe,” praise the destinations they work with. And about the routes of competitors they transparently hint that there are all sorts of threats – terrorist attacks, earthquakes, riots, eruptions, price hikes, etc.
Experts specializing in international relations and politics say that the most dangerous now are trips to places where not only hostility, but even open provocations can lie in wait for a Russian tourist – for example, to the Baltic countries and the European ex-socialist camp. When asked about a safe vacation, doctors immediately recall tropical infections, invincible viruses, unsanitary conditions and dubious national cuisine.
From the point of view of political scientists, today even our beloved Turkey and Egypt, as well as Mexico, Brazil, Iran and the Muslim countries of West Africa pose risks for Russian tourists due to a high level of crime and terrorist threats – Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Libya.
As «relatively safe» for compatriots, these responsible people name only Australia and New Zealand (it’s a pity that they don’t offer money for traveling there). So: afraid of wolves, not going on vacation?
–I believe that it is necessary to find out and weigh the risks not in general, but here and now, –advises political scientist, expert on Eurasia Elchin Aliyev. – Security and the tranquility of Russian tourists today depends on more & nbsp; factors than usual. This includes the geopolitical situation, the economic and epidemiological situation, the level of crime, terrorist threats, etc. Alas, there is no ideal.
In countries where Russians are welcome, there may be problems with the local criminogenic and epidemiological situation. But I think that in the light of recent global events and tense international relations, the least evil this summer will be just the lack of civilization in the country of rest, where tourists can at least take care of themselves – wash your hands once again, do not walk at night and take other care.
After listening to all opinions and comparing the risks, «MK» chose for domestic vacationers the three most dangerous and safe countries for summer holidays – by the totality of all risks taken together.
The dangerous trio is led by Latin America: in Venezuela, Honduras and Mexico accessible to Russians today, guests are threatened by the level of local crime, which even the power structures of these countries cannot cope with. The most harmless thing that can happen to a tourist in these countries – meeting with a pickpocket, everything else is much sadder. And if it blows, then there are still favelas (places of compact living in poverty), where medieval ailments still walk to this day. Yes, and flying far and expensive, so it's better to postpone until better times.
«Silver» in terms of risk for travelers, they confidently take African countries accessible to Russians – Ethiopia, Djibouti, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Tanzania. In these countries, without exaggeration, there is everything – and armed conflicts, interethnic and religious strife, incurable diseases, crime, drug trafficking, poverty, HIV-infected ladies of easy virtue, etc.
In third place is –Eurasia, in terms of those countries that are most involved in geopolitical unrest. For example, according to consular statistics, most often this year Russians received visa refusals from Poland, Hungary, Croatia and Ireland, which proves without comment that we are not welcome there. On May 3, a law came into force in Lithuania, according to which applications for temporary residence and the purchase of real estate are no longer accepted from Russians. In the rest of the Baltic countries, citizens of the Russian Federation are also ordered to check in detail and, if possible, not let them in, as «threatening national security.» And means we don't need to go there either.
But are there points on the map of the planet where Russians can calmly relax? You can relax without expecting hostility and provocations within your homeland, although there are also disadvantages on vacation in your native land – overcrowding of resorts with infrastructure, lack of civilization in picturesque corners outside the resort area, limited southern airports, shortage of all types of tickets in summer, high cost, etc.
According to experts, strange as it may seem, Russians can not fear for themselves at all in countries that officially do not sympathize with the Russian Federation today – in the USA, Austria, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland and Belgium. The trouble is that getting there is not at all easy: due to official sanctions, there are problems with both visas and logistics, and on the spot, according to eyewitnesses, everything is friendly towards the Russians.
According to the totality of all risks is the most budgetary and friendly countries of South-East Asia. Another thing is that those who understood this already a couple of years ago managed to bring the authorities of Thai Phuket, Indonesian Bali and Indian Goa to Russophobia with their behavior.
But, firstly, these countries still have many secluded corners and islands where the Russians have not yet had time to show themselves in all their glory, and secondly, there are tolerant, imperturbable and accustomed to everything countries of the «distant ex-socialist camp»; – Vietnam, China and Myanmar. They are always ready to receive us there.
