MOSCOW, May 11. RT TV channel together with the Eksmo publishing house have released the collection «Poetry of the Russian Summer», its presentation will take place at the International Multimedia Press Center of the media group » Russia Today» on May 16, the press service of RT reports.
“Our collection contains poems worthy of Simonov and Tvardovsky. Many of the poets have been writing about the war, about the Donbass, about life and death for eight years. … It is these people who make the nation, they form cultural codes. I didn’t even know about many of them. And now you can all find out,» said Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the RT TV channel, whose words are quoted in the release.
It is noted that the book includes poems and poems by authors who, since 2014, have been creating a new Russian front-line poetry. The collection «Poetry of the Russian Summer» edited by RT includes poems by 25 authors, on which they worked for eight years. Among them are Anna Revyakina, Semyon Pegov, Maria Vatutina, Igor Karaulov, Valentin Gorshenin, Alexander Pelevin, Anna Dolgareva, Maxim Zamshev. The illustrations for the book were made by artist Ilya Pozharov.
The press conference will be attended by poets Igor Karaulov, Anna Revyakina, Dmitry Artis, Maria Vatutina and head of the RT Children of War charity project Yulia Martovalieva, the message adds.
«RT Deputy Editor-in-Chief Anna Belkina and Ekaterina Kozhanova, Director of the Department for Strategic Communications of the Eksmo-AST Publishing Group, will talk about the work on the book. The Poetry of the Russian Summer collection is available in Russian bookstores and online platforms. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the book will be sent to support the «Children of War» project Presentations and creative meetings with authors will be held within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Book Fair (May 18–21, Palace Square), the Red Square Book Festival (June 2–6), the Moscow book fair (August 30-September 3, Gostiny Dvor) and in bookstores across the country,» the message explains.
In addition, in early May, RT, together with Eksmo-AST, launched a poetic marathon timed to coincide with the publication of the book Poetry of the Russian Summer. As part of the marathon, the poems included in the collection were read by poets, actors, TV presenters and public figures, including RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan, President of the Russian Book Union Sergey Stepashin, TV presenter Olga Skabeeva, actor, State Duma deputy Dmitry Pevtsov, journalist, television and radio host Vladimir Solovyov. The action takes place in the social networks «Eksmo-AST» and RT.
