MOSCOW, May 14. Forest fire services in Russia put out 95 wildfires in a day, Avialesookhrana reports on its website.
“According to the information of the regional forestry dispatch services, over the past day on May 13, 2023, in 28 regions of Russia, forest fire services and involved persons extinguished 95 forest fires on an area covered by fire, 53,021 hectares,” the message says.
By midnight on May 14, there were 64 forest fires in the country on an area of 25,932 hectares, which were actively extinguished.
The largest area of fires was recorded in the Sverdlovsk region — there are 27 fires on an area of 18,539 hectares.
