MOSCOW, May 12.
strong> Russian cosmonauts Sergei Prokopiev and Dmitry Petelin, while working in open space, opened the radiator panels, which they had previously transferred to the Nauka module on the ISS, Roscosmos is broadcasting the exit.
The exit hatch of the Poisk module was opened at 18.47 Moscow time.
After exiting the hatch, Prokopiev and Petelin headed for the Nauka module, which, during work outside the ISS 19 April, the radiation heat exchanger was moved from the Rassvet module. The astronauts dismantled two ties from the radiator and opened its panels.
Now they have to fill the hydraulic circuits of the radiator with coolant and combine them with the Nauka module's thermal management system. In addition, the astronauts will have to install two halyards on the ERA remote manipulator.
It is planned that the total duration of work in outer space will be more than 6 hours.
Earlier, Prokopiev said that with the help of the lock chamber, which the cosmonauts had earlier transferred from the Rassvet module to Nauka, it would be possible to place equipment for scientific experiments in outer space without leaving the ISS. A special conveyor will be extended from it, from which the equipment can be captured by the ERA manipulator and installed on the Large Object Attachment Facility (LCCS). SKKO Prokopyev and Petelin were installed at Nauka on November 17, 2022.
