In Murmansk, the premises of the basement floor of the building of the regional military registration and enlistment office burned out. This is reported by the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Rescuers received a signal about a fire at about two in the morning. As they say in the message, in an hour it was already extinguished. 18 firefighters and five vehicles were on the scene. The fire area is also known — 100 square meters.
Baza, without specifying a source, reports that a 19-year-old youth named Shamil Aliyev-Hasanov set fire to the military registration and enlistment office. He, according to the Telegram channel, broke the glass on the basement of the building, filled the window frame with an incendiary mixture and set it on fire. The fire burned down furniture and appliances in the welfare office.
According to Baza, the security forces detained the young man. He allegedly admitted that he committed the arson because of death threats and blackmailing an anonymous person from the Internet, and not because of anti-war beliefs.
This is not the first case of an arson of a military registration and enlistment office in Murmansk. In February, a Molotov cocktail was thrown through the window of a Defense Ministry facility on Orlikovaya Street. Mediazona told stories of people who set fire to military registration and enlistment offices and bank branches without hiding from cameras and police, and after being detained, they tell implausible stories that often involve debts or loans.
