In this case, they are connected to Wi-Fi. They can transfer data about users to certain resources. At a minimum, information can be transferred to the manufacturer,» Vakulin said.
Companies study the information received from smart devices and use it to eliminate technical errors, as well as for marketing purposes, the expert continued.
«If the device has a microphone, any speech is recognized by artificial intelligence and subsequently transmitted to the developer's website, where they analyze the words you say are used for marketing. If the device also has a camera, the information will be more valuable,» Vakulin said.
“The “spy” actions of smart devices are dangerous for their owners, the expert is sure. Among the employees of the manufacturing company, there may be unscrupulous people who are ready to use the received data to their advantage, he noted.
