NALCHIK, May 15. Police investigators in Kabardino-Balkaria opened a criminal case against the rector of a university who is suspected of embezzling 1.5 million rubles while organizing retraining courses for pensioners, the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported .
«The operatives of the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the KBR, in cooperation with the employees of the republican FSB, identified and documented six facts of fraud committed by the 57-year-old rector of one of the educational organizations,» the report says.
According to the investigators, the rector provided the relevant departments with false information that 56 citizens of pre-retirement age took retraining and promotion courses in the institution she leads qualifications. On the basis of these documents, subsidies were paid to the university in the amount of more than 1.5 million rubles, which the rector stole.
On this fact, a criminal case was initiated under the article «Fraud» of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the sanction of which provides for up to six years in prison.
