MOSCOW, May 16. Andrey Betin joined the Board of Directors of Yandex N.V. (the parent company of Yandex) as a non-executive director for a period of four years, follows from a press release following an extraordinary meeting of shareholders of the company.
In March, the company reported that Alexei Komissarov, acting rector of the RANEPA and general director of the ANO «Russia — the Land of Opportunities», resigned as an independent director of Yandex. Betin holds the position of Deputy General Director of the ANO «Russia — a Land of Opportunities», rector of the Senezh Management Workshop, according to information on the organization's website.
«Andrey Betin's professional experience and expertise in the development of educational initiatives will help strengthen the company's Board of Directors team. Yandex has been involved in educational projects for more than 15 years. We use our technologies to systematically develop digital skills among schoolchildren, students and adult professionals,» — says in the comments of the press service of «Yandex».
Also, as part of the extraordinary meeting of shareholders, it was proposed to elect the company Reanda Audit & Assurance B.V. as an auditor of the financial statements of Yandex.
«Yandex N.V… today announced that all decisions proposed at the extraordinary general meeting of Yandex shareholders held on May 15, 2023 have been approved,» the company writes.
Shareholder structure of Yandex N.V. (the parent company of Yandex) as of March 31, 2023 was built as follows: the Arkady Volozh family trust owns 8.5% of the capital, or 45.1% of the votes, other directors, officers and employees own 3.2%, or 6.6% of the vote. Pre-IPO owners own 0.3% of the capital, or 1.8% of the votes of the entire group. Free float represents 87.9% of the capital, or 46.5% of the vote.
