MOSCOW, May 16. Russian President Vladimir Putin asked the head of the Novosibirsk region Andrei Travnikov not to reduce efforts to address social issues, in particular, he drew the attention of the governor to the still ongoing shortage of places in schools and kindergartens and the shortage of ambulance teams in the region.
«You mentioned medicine, about schools. I see that there are obvious things, obvious progress, but nevertheless I would like to draw your attention to this again. As for both schools and kindergartens, there is a shortage of places still remains, so I ask you not to reduce your efforts to solve this problem,» Putin said.
The President also drew attention to the shortage of ambulance teams in the region, noting that «this also applies to medical personnel, this also applies to transport.»
«Andrey Aleksandrovich, given that in general you have such a balanced and effective financial policy, and this is evidenced by the surplus of the regional budget … the solution of social issues is only a choice of priorities I see that all this is being done, but I simply draw your attention to this and wish you success in solving these problems,» Putin said.
On September 9, 2018, Andrei Travnikov won the early election of the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region. 64.52% of voters voted for him. Travnikov's term as governor expires in 2023. In April this year, it became known about plans for his participation in the next elections of the head of the region in September this year. Travnikov heads the Science Commission of the State Council of the Russian Federation.
