VLADIVOSTOK, May 17. Presidium of the political council of the branch » United Russia» in the Primorsky Territory suspended membership in the party of the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the region Anna Aleko, who was arrested on Wednesday in a bribery case.
Aleko was taken into custody until July 15, the joint press service of the judicial system of Primorye said. According to the press service of the Leninsky District Court of Vladivostok, the servant of the people was charged with two episodes of taking a bribe on an especially large scale (part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) while leading the regional philharmonic society. She faces up to 15 years in prison.
«For the period of investigative actions within the framework of the criminal case against Anna Aleko, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Primorsky Territory, the presidium of the regional political council of United Russia decided to suspend her membership in the party,» the regional branch of United Russia said in a statement.
It is noted that on June 20, at a conference of the regional branch of the party, the issue of expelling Aleko from the governing bodies of United Russia will be decided.
Aleko in 2012-2016 headed the Department of Culture of the Primorsky Territory, from 2016 to 2020 she was the director of the regional Philharmonic. In the Legislative Assembly of Primorye, where she was elected in September 2021, she holds the post of Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Regulations, Deputy Ethics and Organization of Work.
