The new method has already been tested on mice
Introducing the vaccine not through injections, but in the form of a “shampoo”, the components of which penetrate the body through the hair follicles, was proposed by researchers from Saratov State University and several universities St. Petersburg.
The preparation was placed in a calcium carbonate matrix container having a size of 1 micron. The idea was for the vaccine to be released gradually, penetrating the follicles as the carbonate carriers dissolved. The resulting suspension as an experiment was applied to the backs of laboratory mice. And in order for the vaccine with calcium carbonate to get inside faster, its effect was enhanced by sonophoresis, a method used in hardware cosmetology based on exposure to ultrasound.
After a certain time, the effectiveness of vaccination was checked by analyzing the immunoglobulins that appeared in the blood of animals, which trigger the immune response.
It turned out that mice that received the vaccine in this unusual way had more IgG2 immunoglobulins in their blood plasma, which are responsible for cellular immunity that protects against infection for several years. Meanwhile, in mice that were injected with the vaccine in the traditional way, in plasma, along with IgG2, IgG1 antibodies still prevailed, which persist only for several months. which penetrates the body through the hair, will replace the traditional one. True, scientists still have to prove its effectiveness in humans.
