The court in Yekaterinburg did not consider Pugacheva's appeal in defense of Roizman
In Yekaterinburg, the court considering the criminal case of former mayor Yevgeny Roizman (included in the register of foreign agents), accused of «repeatedly discrediting the army,» received a written reference to the defendant from Alla Pugacheva. As previously reported, the singer, like other famous people, including the widow of the first president, Naina Yeltsin, wrote petitions for the oppositionist. The content of the characterization given to Roizman Pugacheva became known to the press.
In her address, the People's Artist expresses her hope that «foresight, incorruptibility and independence of the judiciary have not yet been completely lost in our long-suffering society,» and that the judge is monitoring the situation in the country. The situation, according to Pugacheva, clearly points to people who should be supported «so as not to turn into a gray dumb mass of people,» which, moreover, «loses patriotic orientations.»
«The future of our Motherland belongs to such people like Roizman,» writes Pugacheva.
She recalled his previous merits in Yekaterinburg — helping drug addicts, creating museums and transferring them to the city, as well as serving as a mayor: «I never took bribes, I could get an appointment for everyone … «Pugacheva also reminded of the politician's family: «A bad person could not raise and educate such wonderful children,» and assured that over the years of acquaintance she had never been disappointed in him.
In conclusion, Pugacheva asked the court «to take into account everything said from the bottom of her heart when making a decision» and signed the appeal as follows: «Your Alla Pugacheva».
«Alla Pugacheva's appeal (in court) was not considered,» E1 reports. .ru.
