
MOSCOW, May 17. The State Duma at the plenary session on Wednesday adopted an amendment banning campaigning on blocked websites.
It is proposed to change Article 56 of the Law on Guarantees of Electoral Rights of Citizens.
«It is not allowed for candidates, electoral associations, a referendum initiative group, other groups of referendum participants to conduct election campaigning, campaigning on referendum issues using information resources, including sites on the Internet, access to which is restricted by a federal body executive branch, which exercises the functions of control and supervision in the field of mass media, mass communications, information technology and communications,» the text of the amendment reads.
The amendment was approved during the consideration of a bill establishing the procedure for holding elections under martial law.
