
MOSCOW, May 17 . The film «Jeanne Dubarry» received a seven-minute standing ovation in Cannes, writes People. Maivenn Le Besco's tape starring Johnny Depp opened the festival.
Judging by the video posted on Twitter, the reaction of the audience touched the actor. In the footage, he applauds along with the audience and wipes his eyes, as if in tears.
In Jeanne Dubarry, Depp played Louis XV. The role was his first in three years after lengthy proceedings with ex-wife Amber Heard. The premiere at Cannes took place almost a year after the scandalous trial of a Hollywood star and his former lover ended.
«Jeanne Dubary» will be released in Russian cinemas. The exact release date of the tape has not yet been announced.
