Kama plans to produce about ten thousand electric vehicles in 2025

KAZAN, May 19.The Kama automobile company plans to produce about 10,000 Atom electric vehicles in the Russian Federation in the first year of production launch, that is, in 2025, the company's CEO Igor Povarazdnyuk said.
“From the point of view of volumes, we plan to produce at least 10 thousand electric vehicles in the first year, and the volume will be adjusted, including depending on how much the electric vehicle collects pre-orders. Already now, at the prototype stage, the car is of interest to both private individuals and business in terms of being able to pre-order. At some point, we will launch this capability. And the first year of production will, in particular, serve to meet the demand that will arise during the pre-order stage,» he said, responding to the question about the volume of production of new items at the initial stage.
The top manager recalled that the start of serial production of Atom is scheduled for mid-2025. At the same time, he did not disclose exactly where it is planned to organize the production of new items, specifying that several production sites are currently being considered. Earlier, the press service noted that among them is the former Ford plant in Naberezhnye Chelny.

As Kama announced in May, the electric car will be able to accelerate to 100 km/h in 7 seconds, with a range of 500 kilometers, depending on the model. In terms of comfort, the Atom will correspond to the C/D-class, while it will be presented in compact dimensions: the length will be 3995 millimeters, the width — 1780 millimeters and the height — 1615 millimeters. The Italian design bureau worked on the design of the electric car.

Kama Automotive Company was established in 2021 to develop a domestic electric vehicle. At first, the project received the name of the same name with the company, but was later renamed «Atom». The initial investors, approximately in equal shares, were Kamaz CEO Sergey Kogogin and businessman Ruben Vardanyan. //ria.ru/20230511/elektromobil-1871138799.html» data-title='Kaspersky to equip Russian Atom electric car with hack protection'>
