In the Old World, the Japanese premium MPV brand will be offered as an all-wheel drive hybrid. There, the model will be available with a six- or four-seat interior.
The world premiere of the second-generation Lexus LM minivan took place in April at the Shanghai Motor Show, and at the same time it was announced that the monocab would become global: it would appear in more than 60 countries, including Europe. The predecessor has been in service since 2019, initially the “first” LM was positioned as an exclusive for China, although then the van still reached some markets in Southeast Asia. So now Lexus has begun separate shows of its new product: the presentation was held in Spain, while the local division of the brand announced prices and equipment.

Recall that the previous Lexus minivan was made on the basis of the Toyota Alphard, while the new one, obviously, portends the next Toyota monocab. The “second” LM is based on the GA-K platform, created within the framework of the Toyota TNGA architecture. With the change of generations, the monocab has grown: the length of the euro version is 5130 mm (the Chinese version is 5 mm shorter), the width is 1890 mm, the height is 1945 mm. Wheelbase — old 3000mm.
The Lexus LM 350h hybrid will be available to Europeans, the installation includes a four-cylinder “aspirated” 2.5 and an electromechanical variator. In addition, the «old-world» van by default has an all-wheel drive E-Four (an additional electric motor is installed on the rear axle). The total return is 250 hp. and 239 Nm.

The «old-world» MPV has two modifications — six or four. By the way, Lexus himself calls the three-row version “6 + 1”, because if necessary, one more person can still fit in the gallery — they even installed a separate headrest in the middle for him. Chips of the VIP version with a cabin for four — a partition with a sliding glass in the upper part and with a built-in «TV» with a diagonal of 48 inches, between the rear seats there is a massive cabinet with a remote control, the seats themselves — with retractable footrests and a massage function.

The top-end Lexus LM still has a special air conditioning system: thermal sensors are integrated into the partition, they determine the temperature of passengers and the passenger compartment using infrared radiation, in order to then more accurately understand “where and to what extent heating or cooling is required” (neck, arms or legs ). Of course, the Lexus Safety System + (adaptive cruise control, lane keeping system, etc.) is also provided for the model.
A six-seater Lexus LM 350h in Spain costs 125,000 euros, a four-seater minivan costs 150,000 euros. For comparison, the top-end purely electric Mercedes EQV costs about 90,500 euros there (hereinafter — including VAT), and the most sophisticated Mercedes-Benz V-Class with a 237-horsepower diesel engine, all-wheel drive and an AMG package will cost the Spaniards somewhere in 123,000 euros. By the way, Mercedes will soon introduce an updated business van. Well, Lexus LM sales in Europe will begin in October this year.
