Bloomberg: Brazil saw a trap in Zelensky's visit to the G7 summit in Hiroshima
Vladimir Zelensky
G7 Summit in Japanese Hiroshima, where representatives of countries outside the G7 arrived, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to Brazil, may turn out to be a «trap». Bloomberg wrote about this on Saturday.
The Ukrainian leader sent Brazilian President Lula da Silva an offer to meet on the sidelines of the Hiroshima summit, but he has not yet given his answer. The Brazilian side fears that Kiev will begin to impose undesirable actions, the agency writes.
“Brazil has no problem meeting with any leader, but this should not be imposed,” the journalists reported, citing the words unnamed official. At the same time, it is noted that Zelensky’s impromptu presence at the summit could be “a potential trap for non-G7 participants.”
Earlier it was reported that Zelensky, contrary to the previously announced remote presence at the summit, personally flew to Japan on Saturday on a plane owned by the French government. It is known that he will take part in the summit session dedicated to Ukraine. It is scheduled for May 21st. In addition, Zelensky plans to hold several bilateral meetings.
