MOSCOW, May 19. A metropolitan school has fired a teacher suspected of corrupting a child, Alla Voropayeva, director of school No. 1569, said on Friday.
Earlier, the press service of the capital's head office of the RF Investigative Committee reported the arrest of a man suspected of having corrupted a student of a Moscow school for six months. According to the investigation, from November 2019 to April 2020, the teacher “performed indecent acts against a girl” at a school in the south of Moscow.
«In response to the media reports about the situation with the biology teacher of our school, we inform you. In this incident, the Investigative Committee is conducting verification, the school is cooperating with law enforcement agencies. According to our information, no charges have been brought against the teacher today,» Voropaeva said.
However, according to her, «we believe that such actions are unacceptable for a teacher, and therefore it was decided to dismiss him.» As of today, the employment contract with the biology teacher has been terminated.
She added that the student would be provided with psychological help, as well as «any other necessary support» for her and her family.
