The Prosecutor General's Office recognized Greenpeace as an «undesirable organization» in Russia. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the agency.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, Greenpeace made «attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of the country» and financially supported «foreign agents», and after the start of the war in Ukraine was engaged in «anti-Russian propaganda”, therefore the activity of the organization “poses a threat to the foundations of the constitutional order and security.”
“Often the work of Greenpeace is connected with obstruction of the implementation of Russian state programs through the organization of information campaigns and mass public actions not coordinated with the authorities in order to form negative public opinion and hinder the implementation of infrastructure and energy projects beneficial to the country,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said in a statement.
“The foundation’s efforts are aimed at destabilizing the socio-political situation and attempting to change power in the country by unconstitutional means,” the department added.
