US imposes new sanctions against companies from Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia

WASHINGTON, May 19. The US has announced new sanctions and export restrictions on 71 companies from Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia, the Commerce Department said on Friday.
According to a document published in the Federal Register, the agency «has expanded its list of export restrictions on 71 companies determined by the US government to be contrary to the interests of the national security and foreign policy of the United States,» the document says.

The published list contains one company each from Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, all the rest are Russian. Among the Russian companies that fell under the sanctions are the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation, the Federal State Unitary Enterprise «Central Research Institute of Chemistry and Mechanics, Kazan Powder Plant, Arzamas Instrument-Making Plant, aircraft building, ship repair and shipbuilding, machine-building enterprises, including the Bryansk Automobile Plant, JSC «Central Research Institute» BUREVESTNIK», JSC «Information Satellite Systems» named after Academician M. F. Reshetnev», Kazan Optical and Mechanical Plant and others.
