The transport police and the FSB detained an 18-year-old Krasnodar man suspected of trying to set fire to a relay box on the railway tracks. This was reported to Interfax by the press service of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Transport in the Southern Federal District.
The agency clarified that employees of the North Caucasian Railway reported about the «intervention of unauthorized persons» at the Agronom-Dinskaya section. “The investigative team that arrived at the scene found that <…> an attempt was made to set fire to the relay cabinet, matches, fragments of paper with traces of burning, traces of liquid were found,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said. The equipment, the police added, was not damaged.
A criminal case was opened against the detainee for attempted damage to property (part 3 of article 30 of the Criminal Code, part 2 of article 167 of the Criminal Code), he was sent to a pre-trial detention center. The police stressed that in the near future the materials of the case will be transferred to the regional department of the FSB, which will consider the issue of retraining him for an article on sabotage (281 of the Criminal Code).
