MOSCOW, May 20. GDP per capita in Russia last year exceeded 15 thousand dollars, approaching the record levels of 2013, follows from the analysis data from the International Monetary Fund.
According to the data, GDP per capita at the end of last year amounted to 15.44 thousand dollars, having increased over the year by 22.3%, or 2.82 thousand dollars. This was the highest level since 2013, when the figure was a record $15.93 thousand.
Among the 100 countries surveyed in 74 countries, GDP per capita increased last year. The strongest increase was in Guyana (89.1%), Armenia (40.6%), Georgia (33.4%), Kuwait (32.7%) and the Seychelles (31%).
Another 25 countries saw declines, of which 19 are in Europe. The most significant drop in GDP per capita in the world occurred in Japan (-15.2%), Sweden (-8.6%) and Korea (-7.9%). The top 10 also includes Hungary, France, Chile, Finland, Luxembourg, Germany and Italy.
Earlier, with reference to the national statistical services, it was reported that Russia, following the results of last year, returned to the top 10 economies of the world.
