In the Kaluga region, the security forces announced the «Interception» plan to detain the drunken head of the Lyudinovsky district and secretary of the local branch of United Russia, Dmitry Udalov, who had an accident on the M-3 highway on May 19. This was reported by the telegram channel ES, as well as «7×7» without indicating sources.
The accident occurred on a toll section of the Kyiv highway. ES posted a video of a man who looks like the head of the district leaving the scene of the accident. According to the telegram channel, Udalov, turning back at the checkpoint, hit another car. On the night of May 19, the official was detained.
The governor of the Kaluga region, Vladislav Shapsha, later announced in his telegram channel that Udalov would be fired from the post of head of the district and expelled from United Russia for «immoral behavior.»
“On the night of May 19, there was an incident involving Dmitry Udalov, head of the Lyudinovsky district administration. He was detained by the traffic police while driving drunk. I consider this to be unacceptable behavior. Such an act is contrary to position, status and common sense. Moreover, it is a violation of the law and a threat to people's lives. Udalov himself told the ES telegram channel that he wrote a letter of resignation of his own free will. He added that he «completely agrees with the governor's decision.»
