MOSCOW, 21 May.The Squid Game: The Challenge will host the biggest cash prize in television history, worth over $4.5 million, according to Deadline.
Squid Game: The Challenge will be a 10-part project . In each of them, players will have to pass tests based on the series and new original competitions.
456 players will take part in a large-scale reality show. The Squid Game will premiere in November.
The filming of the project started in January. Participants of the reality show immediately reported «inhuman» conditions. According to the players, they were treated like animals and forced to stand in the cold for hours. Some of them said they were injured and plan to sue the producer of the Netflix show.
Later, the creators of the show reported that no one was seriously injured on the set. They noted in their appeal that they monitor the health of the project participants.
The South Korean series «The Squid Game», based on which the reality show was created, was released in 2021 and gained popularity around the world. In the story, characters with financial difficulties agree to take part in competitions with monetary rewards, which turn out to be a game of survival.
