WASHINGTON, May 19. The United States has expanded the list of sectors of the Russian economy that can be subject to sanctions, the US Treasury Department said.
Architecture, design, industrial production, construction and transport have now become sanctioned.
«Any person who … is determined to work in these sectors, now or in the past, is subject to sanctions,» says the ruling, which was signed by Andrea Gaki, head of the Ministerial Office of Foreign Assets Control .
The United States previously placed more than a dozen sectors of the Russian economy on the sanctions list, from the military-industrial complex to banks and mining.
