MOSCOW, May 19. The artist Sergey Vorzhev died at the age of 73. This was announced in his Telegram channel by the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratiev.
«I think there is no person in the region who would not be familiar with his work. «Kuban Salvador Dali» — that's what his colleagues, students, fans called him,» said Kondratiev.
Vorzhev is an Honored Artist of Russia, holder of the Order of Peter the Great, I degree. He was born in the village of Varenikovskaya in the Crimean region of the Krasnodar Territory on February 21, 1950. Graduated from the Art and Graphic Faculty of the Kuban State University.
Vorzhev's works are shown in the Krasnodar Regional Art Museum named after F. A. Kovalenko, Maikop Art Museum. They are also in private collections.
