The Supreme Court of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic has sentenced Alexei Kyrkalov, a fighter of the Azov Battalion, to a life sentence in a strict regime colony in the case of the murder of a Russian soldier. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
Kyrkalov was found guilty of ill-treatment of prisoners of war and the use of means and methods prohibited in an armed conflict (Part 1 of Article 356 of the Criminal Code), as well as the murder of a military man who is in helpless state (paragraphs “b” and “c” of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code).

This week, the Southern District Military Court received cases against 33 fighters of the Ukrainian subdivisions of the Medvedi DShG and the Azov brigade. They are accused of forcibly seizing power (Article 278 of the Criminal Code), organizing the activities of a terrorist organization and participating in it (Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code), and of undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities (Article 205.3 of the Criminal Code).
