An elderly woman tried to leave the CTO zone and came under fire
Among the 12 victims of the attack by Ukrainian saboteurs on the Belgorod region is 53-year-old Galina Demchik from the village of Gora-Podol. She received gunshot wounds in her neck. The woman was injured when, together with her elderly mother, she tried to leave the war zone. Here is what her relatives said.
— We left the village in the morning, — Galina's brother explained, — my sister stayed at home. Suddenly the bombing started. She called me and said that she would also leave. Then I called her back, literally 10 minutes later, another woman picked up the phone. And she said that Galina was wounded.
The 88-year-old mother of Galina Demchik managed to tell how the events unfolded. Everything happened before her eyes — Galina tried to evacuate with her mother.
— We got into the car, drove off. At first there was no one. We reached the turn to Grayvoron, and suddenly men in military uniforms with weapons jumped out. They even seemed to “vote”, with gestures they asked to stop. We slowed down and they immediately started shooting.
— Yes, from both sides. And the wheels, and the cabin. Glass shattered left and right. I lay down. And Galya was hurt. They endured such fear, the heart is still pounding.
— Then they left. A few minutes later, our friend was driving, saw that our car was under fire, and stopped. Soon our soldiers arrived. They said that Galya's wound was not serious. And then she was sent to the hospital.
— She does not work anywhere, and her husband is at school, a security guard.
